Neoregelia 'Atlantis' is a variety of bromeliad native to the tropical rainforests of South America, mainly in Brazil, known for its lush, showy leaves with a unique pattern of colours and stripes. Neoregelia 'Atlantis' is an epiphytic plant belonging to the bromeliad family.

Its leaves are broad, flat and form a rosette in the centre. The most distinctive feature of this variety is its colouring, which includes shades of green, red, yellow and white, creating an attractive and striking pattern.

As the plant matures, it can develop a more intense shade of colour. Atlantis' is prized for its ornamental appeal and is an excellent choice for adding an exotic touch to interior spaces.

Neoregelias are named after the botanist Edward Von Regel, who was director of the botanical gardens of St. Petersburg.

Originally classified as Aregelia, Karatus and Regelia, they were re-classified as Neoregelia in 1890. Most of the more than 100 known varieties grow wild in Brazil, Colombia and Peru.

They prefer bright light conditions, however direct sunlight can burn and bleach the leaves, so semi-shaded or indirect light locations are best.

Similar to Tillandsias, Neoregelias tolerate temperatures from 15ºC to 30ºC to develop properly, but will not survive below 10º.

Temperatures above 30°C will result in poor leaf colouring and leaf scorch.
