Argentea Tillandsia

The Tillandsia or Argentea air plant when it reaches its adult form can measure approximately 12 centimetres in diameter.

The base of the plant is bulb-shaped, its leaves are very thin and fibrous, the leaves that form in the inflorescence become silver, blue with a touch of green, it has very few flowers, these are of a very peculiar colour like cherries a particularly beautiful colour, the variety of Argentea air plants usually grows alone or in small colonies of a few individuals.

The name of the tillandsia Argentea comes from the word Argentum which in Latin means silver, this is due to the colour of the tillandsia Argéntea, this variety grows alone or in clusters of a few individuals.

This variety of air plant or tillandsia comes from Cuba and Jamaica. It is very similar to Tillandsia fuchsii.

Tillandsia argentea varies mainly in terms of the colour of the floral parts, and the leaves, the margins curved in on themselves. Very elegant suspended.

The variety is localized in Mexico and Guatemala having different forms in Cuba and Jamaica, this variety of tillandsia can be located from 800 m to 1500m above sea level.
